When Keystroke Lock is running, it is available in the Windows “system tray”. This icon serves as a quick status indicator, as well as another way to access the software.
Status
The icon will look different depending on whether keystroke encryption is active or not:
Keystroke encryption Enabled = ![]()
Keystroke encryption Disabled = ![]()
Usage
The tray icon can also be clicked on to interact with Keystroke Lock.
Left-click opens the Keystroke Lock user interface.
Right-click opens a quick menu with the options:
Open
Opens the Keystroke Lock user interface.
Enable/Disable Protection
Enables or disables the keystroke encryption.
Exit
Exits the software which also stops keystroke encryption.
Best Practice
We recommend moving the Keystroke Lock tray icon so it is always visible in your taskbar. This provides a quick visual way to confirm keystroke encryption is enabled.
To do this, drag the Keystroke Lock icon down until the pin icon shows, then drop the icon. The following GIF shows how to do this:
